Witness App

Privacy Policy

Effective October 18, 2026  |  312 IT Consulting LLC

Witness keeps your photos on your phone. There are no accounts, no ads, and we do not sell or share your data. A few features look things up on public sites, and the app sends anonymous usage numbers that you can turn off.

1. Who we are

Witness is an iPhone app that finds the games you went to from your own photos and keeps them as a timeline, map and stamp passport. It is provided by 312 IT Consulting LLC. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What stays on your phone

Photos: with your permission the app reads your photo library to find games from each photo's date and place. The analysis happens on your phone, including the check that looks for a scoreboard or a stadium in a photo. Your photos are not uploaded and not copied. The app remembers which photos belong to a game by their reference in your library.

Location: if you allow it, the app uses your location while it is open (for example Check in, which finds stadiums near you). Your location is used on your phone to pick nearby stadiums and is not sent to us.

What you enter: games, scores, seats, notes, people you add, favorite teams and your home city are saved in the app's storage on your phone. There is no account and no cloud sync. This data is part of your device backups according to your iOS settings. Deleting the app deletes it.

Calendar: if you tap Add to Calendar, the app asks for permission to add events only. It cannot read your calendar.

Notifications: game-day reminders are scheduled on your phone. Nothing about them is sent to us.

3. Services the app contacts

To look up games, the app contacts public sports data sources: ESPN's public schedule service and UEFA's public match feed. A request names a league, a team or a date, such as "the next games for this team". It does not include your name, photos or location. As with any website, the service can see your device's IP address.

The app also downloads team, stadium and schedule data files from a server we run. A request names a data file, such as the games of one league in one season, never a person, a photo or a place you were. The request is not tied to the anonymous identifier used for usage numbers, and we do not keep it beyond the host's ordinary short-lived server logs. Your phone then matches photos to games on the phone itself.

To show the weather at a game, the app sends the stadium's coordinates and the date to Open-Meteo. These are the stadium's coordinates, not yours.

Maps, searching for a city or stadium, satellite pictures of stadiums, and naming your city from your location are done with Apple's map and location services, under Apple's privacy policy.

4. Anonymous usage numbers

The app sends anonymous usage events to a server we run, so we can see which features are used and where the app falls short. An event is a short label such as "game added" or "photo scan finished", with simple details such as the sport, a count, or the name of a team whose schedule was looked up. Each event also carries a random identifier created on your phone, the app version, the iOS version, and the country, which our host works out from the connection. The identifier is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and a new one is made if you delete and reinstall the app.

These events never include your photos, your location, the names of people you add, your notes or your seat numbers.

You can turn this off at any time with Share anonymous usage in the You tab. We keep these events for up to 24 months and then delete them. The events are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts our server.

5. What we do not do

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

6. Your choices and rights

You control the photo, location, calendar and notification permissions in iOS Settings, and the app keeps working with fewer features if you say no. You can turn off anonymous usage in the app. Deleting the app removes what it stores on your phone.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data, such as access or deletion. We do not keep your name or contact details, and usage events cannot be tied to you. If you have a question or a request, write to [email protected].

7. Children

Witness is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

8. Security

Anonymous usage events are sent over an encrypted connection. Everything else stays on your phone.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change affects what the app collects, we will tell you in the app.
